From March 2020 to the present day, Aella continues to rehearse in creative ways, producing new choral experiences.
In November 2021, Aella Choir recorded a series of 3 remembrance-themed works. Reflections from Yad Vashem is the first of this series to be released. Featuring an array of instruments — harp, piano, viola, glockenspiel, and handbells — Aella was thrilled to collaborate with so many talented musicians for this recording. The video footage also features the National Holocaust Monument in downtown Ottawa, a beautiful and deeply moving location.
With the help of a parking garage and singing masks, Aella recorded some of their favourite festive tunes for Christmas 2020.
In this virtual offering, Aella weaves together music, poetry, and visuals to tell stories of leaving and finding home.
